ANNUAL MEETING

 

It was a perfect fall day, there were zillions of birds, a flock of librarians also migrated in, and there was great food.  What was going on?  SCRLC‘s 38th Annual Meeting was held October 8, 2004 at the wonderful Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University.  The new Lab is a beautiful building with stunning woodwork and furniture, lovely surroundings with pond and woods, and a beautiful library overlooking the pond.  Jacie Spoon, Library Director at the Adelson Library was a gracious host, Michael Borges, Executive Director at the New York Library Association was the keynote speaker on library advocacy, and Barbara Lifton, Assemblywoman from the 128th District also spoke on how best to advocate for libraries. 

 

We were delighted to give the SCRLC Award for Outstanding Service to the Dues Restructuring Task Force for their long, hard work on how to change our membership dues in a way that was fair and effective.
