Are you wondering what a wiki is??? Have you ever seen a survey monkey? Getting bogged down because you don't know how a blog works? Participants in this workshop on electronic communication will leave with a solid understanding of how to: manage your ever-growing emails, participate in online discussion lists, communicate in an online chat room, describe a weblog, work a wiki, and choose which RSS (Rich Site Summary) feed is the best!
Participants will also be introduced to online
survey tools and how to use them to get quality feedback on services.
Library staff need these skills both for their own communications and to answer
patrons' questions about these information tools.
Eric Machan Howd, Tompkins Cortland Community College's
Coordinator of Online Learning Services, will lead you through hands-on
exercises that will familiarize you with these seemingly alien communication
tools!
