RESOURCE SHARING USERS GROUP
PRESENTATION
Redefining
Interlibrary Loan, September 21, 2006,
Steele
Memorial Library,
This program was well attended by 33 people from various types of libraries within our region. Both administrative and support staff were represented.
Mary Sue Iddings from OCLC presented us with information about the benefits of a group catalog. She and Kate Vincent, OCLC, will be working with SCRLC to investigate the possibilities of a regional group catalog.
Jon Penn, Nylink,
introduced us to “Recent Enhancements and Future Plans for Resource
Sharing”. He covered filtering by
volume/year in custom holdings, the ability to renew over dues for items that
are more than 14 days overdue, “review-in-process’ category, batch updating and
printing enhancements, auto deflection, improvements to supplier status
changes, link to the administrative module and local holdings, and constant
data persistence where it is repeated into the ILL form. Jon briefly went over
changes that are expected in 2006-2007.
