CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND OUR REPORT CARD

The statewide series of workshops sponsored by the NY3Rs, and funded with support from LSTA funds were completed in August but there were various follow-up events such as programs and poster sessions at the NYLA conference, a summary of each library’s progress, and a program at the ACRLC conference in 2005.  SCRLC staff participated in the workshop series, and as part of their homework, staff chose the annual report card that we send to member libraries as a service that desperately needed improvement!  As a result, we have revamped the way we produce the report, streamlined the process, improved the format, and with luck and our rapid cycle improvement skills, members will receive their report in February, 2005.  This report is one way to answer the question ‘What do I get for my membership?”  The Report Card provides information on the contributions that the member library or system made to SCRLC and the region and shows what benefits the library received as a result of their membership in SCRLC.   The Report is also used by many libraries to show their administrations the return they get from their investment of membership dues.
