to receive the 2006
SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship.

- Kornelia Tancheva will become
Director of Collections, Reference, Instruction and Outreach in
Instruction, Research and Information Services at Cornell University
on July 1.
- Beginning
in July, Susan Frey, Assistant Director at Tompkins
County Public Library, will be the new Director of the Pike County Public
Library in Milford, Pennsylvania. Best Wishes, Susan!
- Barbara Hornick-Lockard, Director
of Arthur A. Houghton, Jr. Library, Corning Community College retired May 26,
2006. Cindy Maier will be Acting Director.
- Kathy Long from Bourke Memorial
Library, Cayuga
Community College
has also retired.
- Tom Hickerson from Cornell has taken
the job as Director of Information Resources at the University of Calgary.
- Sarah Thomas, University Librarian
has been reappointed as University Librarian for a five-year term,
beginning July 1, 2006.
- Sally Hillegas is the new Circuit
Rider Librarian for Central New York Library Resources Council.
- Gail Barraco is now the School
Library System Director at Eastern Suffolk BOCES, Bellport, NY.
- Pat Schmidt has retired as Director
of the Delaware Chenango BOCES School Library System.
- Diane Dolbashion, Director of the
Rakow Library at the Corning Museum of Glass has been elected to the
Nylink Advisory Council.
- Jean Poland, Associate University
Librarian of the Physical Sciences Library at Cornell has been elected to
OCLC’s User Council.
- Congratulations
to Liz Wavle, Director of the
Gannett-Tripp Library at Elmira College on receiving the Douglas Anderson
Administrative Leadership Award at Elmira College. Liz is the President of
both the SCRLC Board of Trustees and the Chemung County Library System
Board of Trustees.
