The goal of Ready, Set,
Digitize! is to improve the ability of library staff at all levels to make good
decisions related to digitizing. Well-executed products will have great value
to the many potential audiences for digital materials: K-12, researchers,
tourists, genealogists, and others focused on local or regional materials.
Experts from many specializations will present all phases of developing,
implementing, and maintaining digitized collections. This comprehensive
educational program will cover project management, copyright and intellectual
property rights, scanning, metadata, preservation of digital objects,
sustainability and maintenance of digital projects, and promotion and use of
digital collections.
All workshops (May 2007
through February 2008) will be one-day sessions (9:30 am-3:30 pm) held at the
Country Inn & Suites in
This series is co-sponsored by SCRLC (South Central
Regional Library Council) and CLRC (Central NY Library Resources Council) and supported in part by
Federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds awarded to the New
York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services
(IMLS).
