                                          Academic Libraries, 2007

The next statewide biennial conference for academic library directors will be held in Saratoga Springs, November 1-2, 2007.  A planning group including Jean Currie from SCRLC and Lis Chabot from Ithaca College are working on the content of the program.  Sessions will focus on issues related to Libraries 2.0 – what will our libraries be like, what will they be doing, and how will they serve the current and new generations of students and faculty.  Stay tuned for more information but put these dates on the calendar!             Continuous Assessment, Continuous Improvement, Grand Reunions!

The third and final round of Continuous Assessment, Continuous Improvement workshops are underway around the state.  A big, grand reunion for anyone who ever attended any of the series starting back in 2004/2005 will be held on March 19 at St John Fisher College in Rochester and March 20 at the Capital District Library Council.  Come to the one closest to you!

Information about how to register for those who attended the first and second rounds will be made available soon.  If you are registered in the current round, you do not need to do anything!

We are hearing wonderful success stories about processes that have been greatly improved, changes in the culture of libraries that have provided significant examples of surprising and delighting the customers, and changes that have caught the attention of administrators to the benefit of the library.  Come to a reunion and hear these stories for yourself.
