“We are delighted to introduce Betty Mauté as our Resource Sharing Manager.  Betty comes to us from the Delaware Academy of Medicine where she wore several hats:  Document Delivery and Technical Services librarian, as well as Reference and Circuit Riding Librarian.”

 

Betty left us in May 2003 and returned February 2006, this time as a part-time employee.  Since she left, she has added the experience of working in a public library.  Dover Public Library provided Betty an office, computer and phone in exchange for public reference duties as part of a unique consumer health outreach program in Kent County funded by a grant through the Delaware Department of Public Health utilizing the “Tobacco Settlement” monies.  This was a pilot program and has been continued and extended to the other two Delaware Counties.

 

Betty’s passion for Resource Sharing and love of New York State’s natural beauty brought her back to SCRLC.

It is important to update your local holdings in OCLC using Connexion!

 

Why?

 

Connexion integrates your cataloging with WorldCat. Your local holdings:

  • Support interlibrary loan
  • Support collection development
  • Provide finding tools for local users and staff and assists remote users.

 

If your serial holdings are incorrect, your interlibrary loan staff will continue to get requests for items you do not own. This is not only time consuming for them, it also adds to the patron’s wait-time as the request must be re-routed to another library.

 

Let’s all work together and keep those serial records accurate, let South Central Regional Library Council help!

 Meet Jane Rawoof

 

Jane Rawoof has been filling your BARC requests since just after Thanksgiving 2005, taking over for Rosellen Burgdorf.  Jane is originally from Wilmington, Delaware and received her MSLS from Catholic University.

 

In addition to her BARC responsibilities, Jane is the Cataloger and ILL Librarian at Broome Community College in Binghamton where she has been for over 35 years.  She has the experience and the right customer service attitude for our BARC program!

 

Jane’s son, Schahid, is a doctor in Boston currently in process of moving to the DC area to be closer to his sister, Bibi, her husband and 5 children.  Jane’s husband, a native of India, works at Becton Dickinson Company in New Jersey, commuting several times a month from Binghamton.

 

Jane enjoys reading and all forms of classical music, especially opera.  She also enjoys doing puzzles and following the stock market.
